TwinCopy is a professional editing service, run by twin sisters in New York City and Washington, DC.

Our collective writing and editing expertise spans the non-profit and government agency sectors, as well as academia and the private sector.

Writing and editing is our passion and lifeblood! Our love for this trade came about naturally for us, as daughters of Taiwanese parents for whom English was not their first language. Time and again, our parents would rely on us to help write and edit correspondence with our dad’s brain surgeons—when he fell sick from a recurring tumor—and later with lawyers—when he faced harassment from his employers for his resulting disabilities. These real-life experiences trained us to learn quickly how to say what needed to be said—concisely and powerfully—in just the right amount of words.

Today, we have leveraged this personal experience and training as professionals. We both use these skills in a capacity where our sharpened analytical and critical thinking skills help inform and enhance our editing process.

Susan spends her free time sewing and designing clothes, drinking coffee, and wrangling her little tyke of a son. Emily spends her free time traveling and training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. In a former life, we were co-lead singers in a band called Exit Clov. Check out our last record HERE.
